The Ceremony Is About To Begin...

Blogging on a Monday? But why!?

Yes, I'm blogging on a Monday. Why? Well, for one, it's a good day since I can actually see the sun and feel warm when I walk outside.  Another reason is because (if you haven't noticed) there's a BRAND NEW design for this blog.  New background, new name, and overall much more showing of who I am.  Doesn't it make reading a bit more interesting after you've thrown a bit of yourself into the situation?

Don't worry, there's still a progression blog post for Friday as always, I just felt like I should show off the new page and such.

You know what to do. As always,

Still Unbroken

I plan to blog every Friday (something I should have done at the beginning of the year), but this week, I'm a bit early (I'm typing this a day early, but it'll be out on schedule). I have Randolph County All-County Band stuff going on, so I'll be gone most of Friday.

We decided to add a little easter egg to the game. In the pawn shop scene for both guys, there's an autographed picture of Charlie Sheen on the back wall with the phrase "Keep on winning" with his signature beneath that. I'd like to see the people who don't know it's there be all surprised and such and say "OMG! CHARLIE SHEEN! TIGER BLOOD! :D!"

The scenes for the alley and the pawn shop itself are coming along, they just have the basic outlines, walls, and such. Both scenes can affect gameplay, and can determine whether the player is smart enough to survive and make it to the mechanic's shop. The alley scene will contain some form of gameplay (yet to be determined; possibly like something from the Last Stand) game series) and failure to make it through can cause the player to die, restarting them at the selection scene for the alley and pawn shop.

The pawn shop will be somewhat like the An Escape Series games, where the player is timed to find a keycode to unlock a door, get to the roof of the building, and find a route around the zombies. The chance of survival here is depending upon whether the player can find the keycode within the time limit.

That about does it... yep.

Joseph Ducreax Presents...

Greetings, my dear friends. France's most extravagant artist here. I have been informed that I must present a moving picture or something of the sort. So with out further ado, I provide to you with a moving picture that shall forever alter your thinking on the topic of interactive moving picture entertainment.

"Oh no! Where did he go?"

Busy, busy, busy. I've been involved with so much lately that I haven't had a chance to update my blog as often as I should. Finally, I have enough time to update!

The vlog that I'm supposed to have.... well, it should be up this week. But while you're waiting for that, I guess you should know what's been going on. In the time I've had to work (which has been little, with going to a funeral, working on school work, yadda yadda yadda), Steven and I have completed the paper prototype (which after a close observation, I've come to realize that our game needs more.... a lot more) and our video is available on our Viddler page. Oh, and did I mention that we finished our game demo?

Yeah, our demo isn't finished yet, but it will be eventually, and so will the entire game!

Update much much sooner than last time.

Imaginin' One Of Them Game Things

Wanna know what this game is gonna be about? Here it is (with an awesome design on it, might I add)!

I have a feeling this game is going to turn out good after all. I'm going to add voices, sound effects, animations, and more. Ready for the game of the year?

You know what to do.

The Next Best Thing Since Rock Music

For the three or four people who are actually reading this, my name is Aaron.

And now for the other two who are still reading to this point, I should probably throw out my idea for the game. The setting of the game is in America, modern day, and the player plays as a rock band (and they play real music, not that Justin Bieber "music") trying to reach a concert here in fabulous West Virginia. You start in Florida, and work your way north through states such as Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, and finally West Virginia. In order to move on through to the next state, you must correctly answer 3 questions about the states' history. If you miss the question, you lose one life, and you have a total of three lives. After those lives run out, the bus breaks down, you you have to restart the game. Clues within the level will help you solve the questions and move on to the next state.

Yes, I know this sounds over-the-top for somebody with my experience in Flash, but considering I have a lot of time to work on it, I think I can make this game come to life. And reading through sites like the Halo Wars Development Blog and the basic information of strategy games from Wikipedia (under the Research Links section), I think I know what I need to do to make this game work.

The more I think about it, the more I realize this game idea is becoming more of an adventure game than anything else.... whoops.

Update soon, comment, subscribe, and spread the word.
