Bad Black Ops Reference? I Think So...

Меня зовут Виктор Reznov, и у меня будет моя месть!

Now that that is out of the way, we can get down to the nitty gritty. Time to begin number 27, with hopefully more to follow. That is, if a tornado doesn't suck up the months of time and hard work...

The entire alley scene is slowly becoming a bust. After creating it and thinking about our limits (ability and time, mostly), we've realized that the alley scene isn't going to be easy to create, based on the plans we've made. I, personally, would like to create a game like The Last Stand, but my (and Steven's) skills with Flash CS5 (and basically Adobe software in general) lack the ability to do so.

I think that about does it... Yep, I'm done.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

Yes, such a good week! Such a long week it has been, since I've been sick half of it. I'm still feeling bad even as I type this, and I'm missing the awesomeness that is SXSW (South By South West)!

If you've been checking my learning log, you can see I've spent the past couple weeks working on the city scene, the alley scene, and the pawn shop scene. As of right now, only the design for the pawn shop is finished, but the coding still needs to be added, tested, and debugged. The alley scene? Well, it's so far behind schedule that we might just drop it and have it cut straight to the pawn shop, where we'll add a bit more gameplay if necessary. The city scene is also horribly behind. The point of the level is for the character to get through the small part of the city, dodge obstacles, and destroy enemies in order to survive and make it to a safe house.

Hmm, I guess that's it. Time to suffer through the day with stomach pains now...

Still Unbroken

I plan to blog every Friday (something I should have done at the beginning of the year), but this week, I'm a bit early (I'm typing this a day early, but it'll be out on schedule). I have Randolph County All-County Band stuff going on, so I'll be gone most of Friday.

We decided to add a little easter egg to the game. In the pawn shop scene for both guys, there's an autographed picture of Charlie Sheen on the back wall with the phrase "Keep on winning" with his signature beneath that. I'd like to see the people who don't know it's there be all surprised and such and say "OMG! CHARLIE SHEEN! TIGER BLOOD! :D!"

The scenes for the alley and the pawn shop itself are coming along, they just have the basic outlines, walls, and such. Both scenes can affect gameplay, and can determine whether the player is smart enough to survive and make it to the mechanic's shop. The alley scene will contain some form of gameplay (yet to be determined; possibly like something from the Last Stand) game series) and failure to make it through can cause the player to die, restarting them at the selection scene for the alley and pawn shop.

The pawn shop will be somewhat like the An Escape Series games, where the player is timed to find a keycode to unlock a door, get to the roof of the building, and find a route around the zombies. The chance of survival here is depending upon whether the player can find the keycode within the time limit.

That about does it... yep.

Numero 24

Hola! La bienvenida a...
WAIT! I speak English. So let's do this, American style.

The game is slowly progressing. We've gotten as far as the second (and possibly final) level. The gameplay is slowly evolving from a simple point-and-click to shoot kind of game to a more interactive game. The interactive part? Well, that's yet to be determined. It'll be more than point-and-shoot game, though.

And while you're here, listen to a little music by Slash and Myles Kennedy (he's from Alter Bridge!).
